Summary
Kanurra, Inc. (“Kanurra,” “we,” “us”) is a pharmacy benefit manager for self-funded employer health plans. Our text messaging program, Kanurra Member Account Notifications (the “Program”), is offered to members of health plans that Kanurra administers. Every message is sent from our toll-free number, (888) 814-4197, which is also the phone number of our pharmacy and member help desk.
The Program is for plan members only. Pharmacies and pharmacists who call the help desk are not enrolled and cannot join.
Join, get help, or stop
Join: text START to (888) 814-4197 to get Kanurra member account texts, or say yes when our help desk offers texts on a call. Then reply YES to the text we send you to confirm. Help: reply HELP or call (888) 814-4197. Stop: reply STOP at any time.
By texting START or JOIN to (888) 814-4197, or by saying yes when our help desk asks, and then replying YES to confirm, you agree to receive recurring text messages from Kanurra, Inc. at that mobile number about your Kanurra account: claim status, prior authorization updates, and replies to your help desk requests. No marketing. You confirm you are the account holder of that mobile number or are authorized to use it. Consent is not a condition of coverage or of any purchase. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help and STOP to cancel. Terms: kanurra.com/sms. Privacy: kanurra.com/privacy.
Texting is optional. Your coverage, your claims, and your access to the help desk are the same whether or not you join.
These terms explain how to join, what we send, how to get help, and how to stop. They apply to the Program only. Use of this website is covered by our Terms of Service, and how we handle your information is covered by our Privacy Policy.
What we send
The Program sends account notifications and customer care messages about your pharmacy benefit. That means:
- Claim status updates.
- Prior authorization updates.
- Replies to requests you made to our help desk.
We do not send marketing or promotional messages in this Program.
Our messages never include drug names, diagnoses, or claim dollar amounts. A text from us tells you something on your account has changed and asks you to call the help desk at (888) 814-4197, or log in to your Kanurra account if your plan has given you access, for the details. Here is an example of a message in the Program:
“Kanurra: Your prior authorization request has been updated. Log in to your Kanurra account or call 888-814-4197 for details. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out. Msg & data rates may apply.”
How to opt in
There are two ways to start joining the Program. Both send you the same text asking you to confirm, and you are not enrolled until you reply YES to that text.
We send account updates only to a mobile number that is linked to your member record. If the number you text from is not linked, call the help desk and they can link it on the call.
1. Text a keyword
Text START (or JOIN) to (888) 814-4197 from the mobile number where you want to receive messages. The keyword and number are published on this page, and our help desk will give them to callers who ask about text messages.
Right after you text the keyword, we reply with this request to confirm:
“Kanurra Member Account Notifications: claim status, prior authorization updates, and help desk replies. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel. Terms: kanurra.com/sms Privacy: kanurra.com/privacy. Reply YES to confirm.”
If you do not reply YES, you are not enrolled and we send nothing more. When you reply YES, you receive this confirmation, before any other message:
“Kanurra: You are enrolled in Kanurra Member Account Notifications (claim status, prior authorization updates, help desk replies). Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel. Help desk: 888-814-4197.”
2. Tell our help desk on a call
When you call the help desk at (888) 814-4197, the agent may offer text updates. The agent reads this script word for word:
“Would you like to get text messages from Kanurra about your account? These cover claim status, prior authorization updates, and replies to your help desk requests. We send no marketing. Texting is optional and is not a condition of your coverage or of any purchase. Message frequency varies. Msg and data rates may apply. You can reply HELP for help or STOP to cancel at any time. The full terms are at kanurra.com/sms and our privacy policy is at kanurra.com/privacy. What mobile number should we text? [Agent reads the number back.] Is this your own mobile number, or one you are authorized to use? Do you agree to receive these texts at that number?”
You are enrolled only if you clearly say yes. If you say no, or say nothing, you are not enrolled and your call continues as normal.
An example of how that part of a call sounds:
- Agent: [Reads the script above, through “What mobile number should we text?”]
- Member: 555-555-0142.
- Agent: That is 555-555-0142. Is this your own mobile number, or one you are authorized to use?
- Member: It is my own.
- Agent: Do you agree to receive these texts at that number?
- Member: Yes, I agree.
- Agent: Thank you. You will get a text in a moment. Reply YES to that text to confirm. You can reply STOP at any time to cancel.
After a verbal yes, we send the same request to confirm shown above. You are enrolled only when you reply YES to it, and then you receive the enrolled confirmation. If you did not mean to join, do not reply, or reply STOP.
How consent is recorded
Every opt-in, by either method, creates a consent record with the same fields: the date and time, the mobile number, who gave consent, the method (text keyword or verbal), the keyword texted or the version of the call script read, the version of this consent disclosure in force at the time, the date and time you replied YES to confirm, and, for a verbal opt-in, the ID of the agent who recorded it. For a verbal opt-in, the agent logs this record during the call, and that logged record is our proof of consent.
We keep consent records for at least four years after you opt out or your enrollment ends, as described in the Text messaging section of our Privacy Policy.
Message frequency and cost
Message frequency varies. We text when something on your account changes or when we answer a request you made, so the number of messages depends on your activity.
Msg & data rates may apply. Kanurra does not charge for these messages, but your mobile carrier’s standard message and data rates may apply under your plan with them.
Help
Reply HELP to any message for help. You will receive this reply:
“Kanurra Member Account Notifications: For help call 888-814-4197. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel.”
You can also call the help desk at (888) 814-4197, or email privacy@kanurra.com with questions about your information.
How to opt out
Reply STOP to any message to opt out (cancel). STOP, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, and QUIT all work. You can also ask the help desk at (888) 814-4197 to stop texts to your number.
After you opt out, we send one final message confirming it:
“Kanurra: You are unsubscribed from Kanurra Member Account Notifications and will receive no further messages. Reply START to rejoin. Help: 888-814-4197.”
After that confirmation, we send no further text messages to your number unless you opt back in. We keep your opt-out record for as long as needed to honor it.
If you change or give up your mobile number, please reply STOP from that number or tell the help desk first, so messages do not reach whoever gets the number next.
How to opt back in
Text START (or JOIN) to (888) 814-4197 from the same number, or ask the help desk on a call, then reply YES to the request to confirm. You will receive the enrolled confirmation before any other message.
Your mobile number is not shared
Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
We never sell, rent, or share your mobile number or your text messaging opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.
Our messaging provider, Twilio, processes your number on our behalf only to deliver our messages to you. The full details, including what we keep and for how long, are in the Text messaging section of our Privacy Policy.
Carriers and delivery
The Program is available to US mobile numbers on participating carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Text messages can be delayed or fail to arrive for reasons outside our control, so do not rely on a text as your only notice of anything time-sensitive. Call the help desk, or log in to your Kanurra account if your plan has given you access.
Governing law
These Program terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
